Tottenham news: Mauricio Pochettino ‘happy’ in north London, believes Darren Anderton and is convinced the manager will stay
Darren Anderton says it would be a ‘great shock’ if Mauricio Pochettino left Tottenham this summer. The former Spurs midfielder believes the Argentine is happy in north London and will continue to take the club from strength to strength going into the future.Pochettino has been linked with other big jobs1
Pochettino has been linked with other big jobs
Pochettino had been linked with two of the top managerial jobs in football – Manchester United and Real Madrid – but following the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford, both roles have now been filled. And with Tottenham’s new stadium set to open on April 3, Anderton sees no reason why the manager would pick now to leave the club. The former England international told 888Sport: I hope Pochettino will still be there next season and if you ask me for my opinion, yes I think he will be. “Id be absolutely delighted if that proves to be the case because he has been so good for the football club. Hes a great guy who cares. He wants to be part of the process.“He loves it here and he loves working with the sort of players that Tottenham has. He wants the youngsters to work hard and improve as individuals and he puts in a lot of work on the training pitch.“Its meant that the club has gone from strength to strength and everybody is happy and the new stadium just adds to that. So for me it would be a great shock if Pochettino now decided it was time to move on.
