Port Vale supporter chief SLAMS Stoke City fans after derby chaos: It was absolute carnage
A Port Vale supporters chief has SLAMMED a section of idiotic Stoke City fans who caused mayhem and carnage during their chaotic derby clash at Vale Park. The local rivals met in the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday night, with Stoke fielding their Under-21s side, for the first time in 16 years.Vale Park was trashed by visiting Stoke City fans1

League Two side Port Vale sealed a 4-0 win over Stokes youngsters, but the rare Potteries derby was ruined by fan violence.Police made 11 arrests as away fans threw projectiles onto the pitch and trashed one of the stadiums toilet blocks in an evening to forget for the city. And Mark Porter, chairman of Port Vale supporters trust, joined talkSPORT to Wednesday to reflect on the sorry scenes. It was just unbelievable, Ive never witnessed anything in a ground like it, he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast. It was taking football back to the 1980s. Flairs, coin, bottles, smoke bombs, it was just ridiculous.Stoke took 4000 supporters to the game, and Porter was keen to make clear that only a small portion of those fans were involved in the violence. He added: Lets not tar everyone with the same brush, because 90 per cent of the Stoke fans came to watch their Under-21s play. But there were a couple of hundred idiots who came with no other agenda but to cause mayhem and absolute carnage. They have completely smashed the toilets blocks, the toilets are smashed, the windows are smashed, the seats are smashed.Nobody can blame the police, I dont think the police could have done anything better then they did last night, there was more than enough there. We havent had a local derby for 16 years, but last night there were some people who came and all they were interested in was causing trouble.I think the police are going to be very busy over the next couple of the days, because there will be a lot of people who are going to get knocks on their door, and its not going to be the postman.
